As part of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter 150-year celebration and “friendly” competition, Salt & Whiskey has created a special Dusty Rabbit cocktail. Paying homage to the neighborhood’s “Rabbitville” nickname, the Dusty Rabbit competition pits local establishments against each other to find out which bar/restaurant can create the most delicious craft cocktail. The Salt & Whiskey San Diego entry is a creative combination of whiskey, roasted beet juice and roasted carrot juice. Finished, of course, with basil ears. After months of preparation, Salt & Whiskey San Diego officially opened their doors on Wednesday, August 2. The celebration was a nod to their history within the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. Guests were treated to a delicious sampling of the new restaurant menu including pork belly with a whiskey bourbon glaze, brussels sprouts with red grape reduction, beet salad 3 ways, and strawberry cucumber gazpacho.
