After months of preparation, Salt & Whiskey San Diego officially opened their doors on Wednesday, August 2. The celebration was a nod to their history within the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter.
Guests were treated to a delicious sampling of the new restaurant menu including pork belly with a whiskey bourbon glaze, brussels sprouts with red grape reduction, beet salad 3 ways, and strawberry cucumber gazpacho. The bar was serving up complimentary Grand Manhattans and Dusty Rabbits (Learn More About Our Dusty Rabbit Cocktail). Spread throughout the bar, restaurant and courtyard, guests could wander the premises all the while enjoying live music from pianist/vocalist Lele Rose and guitarist/vocalist Rodrigo Arreguin. Also in attendance were Creminelli Meats, FEW, Hochstadter’s, Snowdonia Cheese, Regal Wine Group (Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir & Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc), and Le Grand Courtage sparkling wine.
Previously Ida Bailey’s Restaurant and Palace Bar, Salt & Whiskey is now one entity with a reconfiguration of the bar and restaurant, and an updated look to it’s classic decor.
